  • I have to declare before God, angels & men that the tenet of persecution for the cause of conscience to a terrible thing.
    • It is blasphemous against the God of Peace who made all mankind of one blood to dwell on earth together. Now it’s devolved into destruction of civil beings through war based on religion
    • It’s anti-Christian, i.e. it is going directly against what Jesus preached
    • It’s against the hope of his return which was never about men destroying other men for their religions but to save them through meek & peaceable invitations.
    • It provides magistrates & civil powers with abilities they ought not to have in matters they ought not interfere.
    • It’s brought about the spilling of blood by the powers of the world claiming to be stomping out heresy, blasphemy, idolatry, superstition, etc.
    • It’s not about love, holiness & meekness. It’s about fiery spirits, false zeal & fury.
    • It’s got to the point where there’s no more room for love on earth.
    • It makes innocents cry out for vengeance, perpetuating the cycle of violence
    • It’s way worse than any of the sins that our religions usually focus on, which are sins of personal choice. This is widespread genocide based on religion.
    • It perpetuates hypocrisy & lies into the minds of millions of people who are trying to stomp out “evil” while really just trying to get ahead in worldly measures.
    • We’re putting a focus on cruelty & violence in our religious teachings
    • It’s declaring that reading the Bible is worse than any form of sin you can possible describe or imagine
    • It declares any straying from “correct” ideas leads to eternal damnation – something that Jesus never said.
    • It fights civility, combining of people in favor of purity
    • It’s enflamed the nations of Europe, causing death in every country
    • It makes the civil magistrates subject to the Pope & pope-like clergy with slavish obedience
    • It is used as an excuse for magistrates to strap a yoke onto the backs of the poor
    • It’s been the rallying cry for political upheaval in the form of assassinations of kings, princes, etc. throughout the continent.
    • Full-on massacres have occurred in France & Ireland due to all the religious hatred.
    • It stunts the growth of people & countries. Industry is handicapped because the focus is on religious war instead of production & learning. Religious people have had to flee their countries just to get some peace & quiet.
    • It denies the principles of justice, especially if you happen to be on the wrong side of the war.
    • It makes religious a cloak or stalking horse for some terrible policy or an evil man
    • It destroys the civil honesty & natural conscience of the nation. Conscience to God has been violated & proves to continue on to men.
    • It pours oil onto problems that seem to be dying down.
